This program services continue after the participant is hired to promote job retention, Case management and extended services are provided to assure the participant's ongoing job success.

Job coaches provide training and support to participants at a large number of community job sites. They provide direct training in job specific skills and intensive, on-going services to ensure job retention. Job sampling is typically the initial step in the employment process.  This service provides assessment of the participant's skills, capabilities and interest in different jobs.  Their on-site experience and exposure to a realistic work setting are very valuable in determining the best job placement for each participant.

After the participant is hired by a community employer, the job coach and program participant begin an intensive on the job training period.  The job coach spends the necessary time with individuals to ensure they learn the job and develop appropriate work skills and work behaviors essential to maintain employment.  when the participant has learned the job and is stable in employment, they are referred for ongoing case management and extended services to help maintain their employment.

As part of the Extended Support Services program the job coach makes two monthly contacts including one with the supervisor.  A plan also is developed to outline the type of support needed for continued success.

The success our program participants experience in our Supported Employment program is due in large part to job coaching and job sampling components. Both of these components are available as stand-alone services.
