Connie Kirk joined the Tommy Nobis Center in 1977 as its first CEO. She has led the Center's development from its humble beginnings to a national leadership position today in the field of community rehabilitation programs.

A native of Albany, Ga., Connie holds a Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Oklahoma Medical Center and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Speech from Mercer University. She also earned an Educational Specialist degree from Georgia State University.

As a leader nationally and in her community, Connie serves as the South Regional Representative on the National Council of Work Centers and is a past chairwoman of GATES, the Georgia Association of Training, Employment and Supports. She was the first woman inducted into the Rotary Club of Marietta and participated in the first class of Leadership Cobb. Connie is an active member of the WellStar Health System board of directors and has received awards from the National Rehabilitation Association, Atlanta Woman's Magazine, the Junior League of Cobb County and many more.

Connie and her husband, Dempsey, have two children and six grandchildren. They are active in their community and in their church. You may often find Connie enjoying her lake home, or browsing through bookstores for the latest novel.

Karen Carlisle joined the Tommy Nobis Center staff in 2006 after serving on the Center's board of directors since 2001. In her role, she manages the public relations, fundraising and vehicle donation programs.

Karen's background includes leading the public and government affairs teams at the U.S. headquarters offices of both Solvay Pharmaceuticals and Randstad Staffing. She served previously for nine years as head of marketing and public relations at Atlanta's Northside Hospital.

An Atlanta native, Karen holds a Master's degree in Public Relations from Georgia State University and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Auburn University. Her civic affiliations include the Leadership Cobb and Honorary Commanders Alumni Associations, YWCA Tribute to Women of Achievement Award, Marietta Kiwanis Club and Cobb Jury Commission.

Karen and her husband Kee have four children and live in Marietta, Ga. She enjoys exploring Georgia backroads with Kee to discover unique folk artists and their work, and taking their chocolate lab Sam on walks at nearby Kennesaw Mountain.

Mike Daniels' career began at NISH (formerly National Industries for the Severely Handicapped) where he worked for 17 years, most recently as the South field office manager for products and as program manager for chemical and biological protection of products manufactured in support of our Armed Forces.

Upon joining Tommy Nobis Center in 2006, Mike led the Business Services division which includes Tommy Nobis Enterprises federal contracting service and the Center's Production Services. In 2009, while seeking a way to create more Tommy Nobis Center jobs for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment, Mike launched the new "Recycletronics...at Tommy Nobis Center" electronics recycling initiative. Today he serves as COO of Recycletronics...at Tommy Nobis Center, a dynamic social enterprise that has created 71 jobs since 2009.

Mike graduated with an MBA from Berry College and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. He and his wife Susan live in Blue Ridge with their two teenaged sons. Mike is the proud father of an Eagle Scout, and he serves as a scoutmaster and leader with the Boy Scouts of America.

Linda provides direction for all personnel issues, recruiting, policies and procedures. Before joining the Tommy Nobis Center in 1993, Linda held several positions in the corporate offices of Consolidated Freightways and Leaseway Transportation. She also served as secretary for the Southeastern Area Conference Grievance Committee and functioned as the employer working assistant during national labor negotiations in Washington, DC.

In 2006, Linda received the U.S. Department of Labor's EPIC (Exemplary Public Interest Contribution) Award. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Managers (SHRM), International Personnel Management Association and the Department of Labor Cobb/Cherokee Employers Committee.

Linda attended Valdosta State College and Massey Business School. A doting grandmother, Linda's pride and joy are her six grandchildren. She also enjoys teaching Sunday School to youth and young adults in Marietta, where she lives with husband Malcolm.

A longstanding Tommy Nobis Center team member, Peggy Withrow is responsible for the management of the Rehabilitation team and federal contracting service Tommy Nobis Enterprises. She provides leadership for contracts and staff, touching clients (job trainees) and employees from the headquarters facility to the Center's community based sites.

Peggy graduated summa cum laude from Mars Hill College with a degree in Education. In a career that spans three decades, Peggy has held positions such as production manager, rehabilitation manager and executive director of two rehabilitation programs in Western North Carolina. She also has served as a surveyor for the prestigious Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Peggy, a native North Carolinian, lives in Woodstock, Ga. with husband, Jack. But her favorite home is their mountain hideaway in North Carolina. She enjoys entertaining her three granddaughters, no matter where she goes.
